A common dilemma our customers get when buying a new 2020 F-150 is which trim level is right for them. The most popular trim levels are the XLT, Lariat, Platinum, Limited, and King Ranch. But what sets them apart from each other? Let’s talk about it below.
What are the differences of each trim?
The main differences between each trim level are the price, technological features, exterior body design, and in some cases, the engine. For example, the King Ranch is famous for its western stylings, from its logo down to the interior details. With each elevation in the trim level, pricing increases correspondingly.
The XLT includes everything offered in the XL, the most basic trim. An added benefit of updated styling, chrome detailing, FordPassTM Connect 4G Wi-Fi Modem, and SYNC, which uses Bluetooth to connect your phone and your truck. It comes with basic technological features like power side mirrors, power windows, and locking tailgate. If you’re looking for a fuss-free, all-around vehicle, the XLT is the trim level for you.
Within the XLT, upgrade options such as 300A, 301A, and 302A are available. Each one provides new tech features, including a power driver seat, power-adjustable pedals, upgraded center screen, reverse sensing, remote start, and more. The 302A also comes standard with the XTR Package, which comes in an array of chrome accents, with upgraded rims. Another option is the XLT Sport Package which provides stylish body color accents, and a unique interior finish.
New for this year, is also the option for the XLT Black Package. Features like a trim exclusive black high gloss mesh grille, halogen headlamps with dark housing, and unique 20” premium tarnished dark painted wheels.
The Lariat’s interior is characterized by its wood-grain styling, leather trim, and the standard array of upgraded technological features. With tech features like remote start, reverse sensing system, ambient interior lighting, power-adjustable pedals with memory, 10-way power driver/passenger seat (heated and ventilated), and Ford Co-Pilot 360TM. This vehicle also includes SYNC® 3 as a standard option.
Ford Co-Pilot 360 as a standard feature is new for 2020 models. It includes BLIS (Blind Spot Information System), and a lane-keeping system with alert and assist. The Lariat has two variations in its family; 501A and 502A. Both upgrades provide additional comforts of voice-activated navigation, heated rear seats, windshield wiper de-icer, heated steering wheel, quad beam headlamps, and rain-sensing wipers.
The 502A Lariat comes with the Lariat Chrome Package giving your F-150 chrome-accented exterior features, as well as upgraded 18” rims.
The Lariat Black Appearance Package option will be available for 2020 models. It comes with ebony high gloss grille, LED headlamps with dark housing, and 20” premium tarnished dark painted wheels.
Lastly, the popular Lariat Special Edition Package is available as an alternative. This unique package adds refined exterior and interior styling points, combined with a striking decal combination, elevating this truck above its competition.
The King Ranch® is a luxury F-150 with a plethora of iconic aesthetic and technological features.
